We are a new group, focused on

1. Packington Event Catering Need.

What equipment do we need?  How do we buy it and manage it?

2. Healthy Eating Promotion

This national policy needs local promotion. 9 out of 10 kids today could grow up with dangerous amounts of fat in their body which leads to disease such as type 2 diabetes, cancer and heart disease (Source: Change for Life). The pressure on children to eat fast food needs counteracting and this can be done through making food fun.  Education can make nutritious food appear trendy, and healthy food can also taste great if we know what to do.

3. Cooking Training For All Ages

When asked why they didn’t cook more themselves, a lack of knowledge and confidence was a key factor.  We all watch TV chefs but need a chance to give it a go in a group environment.

We aim to work in partnership with the local companies and organisations to make the food training a real foundation for a healthy life.  Eat Well- be well !

4. Local Sourcing Support/Buying Group

Buy local quality products.

5. Seasonal Food Preservation

With the use of local producers comes the need to preserve the food when in season to use out of season eg Jams, Preserves, Pickles, Cures, and Smoking.  We aim to purchase equipment that would allow us to produce in larger quantities.
