Captain, Dave Goacher, organised our Charity Golf Day on 12th August where 19 teams turned out. Almost £1600 was raised and the beneficiaries will be the Breedon Captain’s chosen charity, a children’s oncology ward at QMC, Nottingham, as well as the British Heart Foundation, nominated by Dave Goacher. The Charity Day is run as team event and the winning team (by some distance) was Dave’s team comprising himself, his son Tom, Mark Fearn and his son Jake, aged 12!
I have to thank Breedon Priory Golf Club for their continuing support to this event by waiving the green fees, as well as their catering personnel for providing the food after the competition. In addition I must thank Rolls Royce who once again supported us.

The away day on 2nd August,was organised by Captain, Dave Goacher. This event was the second competition for the Steve Goacher Cup and was one by Mick Wivell with a total of 38 points, second was Keith Hazeldine with 34 points and Dave himself was 3rd with 32 points. As the previous day had seen the test match cancelled at Edgbaston, we were very pleased to enjoy a beautiful summer’s day.
