PC 1949 John Pearson will be conducting a beat surgery on
Sunday 7th March, at 2.30pm to 3.15pm
at Memorial Hall, High Street, Packington.
Please come along to talk abut your policing problems.
Your views are important and we’d encourage you to tell us what issues you think we and partner agencies should be tackling.
your neighbourhood policing team focuses on the issues that matter to you most.
We would like to share with you a couple of local incidents which may help prevent you becoming a victim of a “con type” crime.
The latest “story” to be used by a bogus caller was revealed to a 77 year old Whitwick woman.
She was distracted by two men who claimed they had been sent to her home to cut down some trees. Whilst in the garden explaining that they weren’t her trees, the house was entered and money stolen.
Do not open the door to unknown and unexpected doorstep callers. Talk to them through a window, or ask them to write to make an appointment, or call the Police.
Attention Internet Users! If you are trying to sell a car on the web, and a purchaser contacts you, but requires you to cash their bankers draft in your account before they can pay you, BE ON YOUR GUARD. This is a fraud which was attempted locally, and the draft was identified as a fake. Be very careful about sales over the Internet.
As a general rule, if something looks too good to be true, it generally is!
